I am 30 years old. I have been collecting Breyer model horses since 1972. My father used to bring me one whenever he returned from a business trip. (I'll bet he thought I'd outgrow it!) My first model was #84 Clydesdale Foal. Now I have about 300+ pieces in my collection. Most are OF Breyer glossies and SR's but I have a few Hagen-Renaker minis, Creata Micro Minis, and several independent resin bodies that I will get around to painting someday.
I have been making tack and live showing about 7 years. I show almost exclusively in my own tack and costumes, using OF Breyers. I do not use dolls but am thinking about adding them to my costume entries. To date, I have won 35 National Top Ten awards, one national championship and two reserves, 25 championships, and 23 reserve championships at competitive shows such as Western Regional Congress, Arizona Live, Tejas Live, and Lone Star Live.
I am a member of the Spanish Breeds Association and the Equine Model Artist Club.
I ride hunt seat and western, and am currently learning Peruvian equitation. Although I do not currently own a horse, I am casually shopping for a Peruvian Paso. My previous horses have been a Missouri Foxtrotter and an Appendix Quarter Horse.
Outside of the hobby, I am an award winning pet groomer of 11 years, and I raise and show American Pit Bull Terriers. Other interests include acting, dance, herpetology, and classic Mustang cars (1964 1/2 - 1970).
