I have always loved horses! I was never able to have my own horse as a child because my parents thought I would hurt myself with one plus they had had a bad previous experience with a Shetland with an attitude. So, I began to collect Breyer and other model horses. My very first Breyers were the Family arab mares in matte charcoal and palomino.
In 1989, while reading through the classified in Horse Illustrated, I saw an ad for the Model Horse Gazette. I subscribed and got fully hooked in the model horse hobby. I entered my first photo shows in 1989 and began to make my own obstacles. My father has always worked with wood and he has been a tremendous help to me. I'm fortunate to have his expertise to help/teach me plus he has a wonderful workshop full of tools to use.
Southern Crystal Ranch is my model and real farm name. All of the obstacles I make are hand made. The majority of the material used is hard wood (pine). Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back. I have my full catalog online where you can see descriptions, prices and photos of what I make.
I also LOVE to do custom work - especially on jumps! People will send photos or sketches of jumps that they want and I will return a price quote. I have several examples of custom jumps that I have done up on my personal web page, also.
